About the Cape & Islands Theater Coalition
The Cape and Islands Theater Coalition works to strengthen Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket performing arts venues, organizations, audiences and individual artists, and through the collaboration of our member theaters we strive to ensure the continued cultural richness of the region by providing opportunities for information and resource sharing, promotion of live performance, education and outreach, collegiality and cooperation for the benefit of the performing arts community, our audiences and supporters.
Founded in 1995 by 5 theaters through the initiative and leadership of the Cape Cod 5 Bank and support from the Cape Cod 5 Bank Foundation, the Theater Coalition has flourished and now grown to over 20 member theaters and producing organizations from Woods Hole to Provincetown, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. With the CC5 Bank Foundation’s continued financial assistance and the Bank’s support, the Theater Coalition is an outstanding example of the benefits all involved realize when organizations work together.
Over 600,000 people attend performances at Cape and Islands theaters every year, with thousands more serving as volunteers and donors. We gratefully acknowledge all those who support us and share our mission, and we particularly acknowledge the leadership of David Willard and the Cape Cod 5 Bank Foundation, as well as the on-going support of Kinlin Grover Real Estate, Cape Air and the Friends of the Cape & Islands Theater Coalition.
